What's New
Magic File Renamer 8 is a full rewrite for modern Windows — same idea as classic MFR, rebuilt to feel current. The beta is a FREE download — no paid license required.
A clean, modern Windows look with the familiar File List, Rename List,
and Filter Chain workflow.- See every new name before anything changes — including a before/after
flip on the same columns.
- Rename photos from where they were taken: place, region, and country
from GPS (plus newer formats like HEIC and WebP).
- Pull titles and authors from PDFs, EPUBs, and Office documents into
file names.
- Safer undo: reverse the last rename as a preview, then press GO when
you are ready.
- Export pending renames as a script you can keep or run later.
- Bring your MFR 7 presets along with a one-time import offer.
- FREE time-limited beta while we finish the release.
