This policy describes how FineBytes handles information when you use www.finebytes.com and related Magic File Renamer (MFR) services. FineBytes has published software since 1999 and is based in Israel. Contact: support@finebytes.com.
What we collect on the website
- License and account forms — name and email when you activate a license, retrieve order history, update an email address, or complete a purchase-related flow.
- Payments — purchases are processed by PayPal. We receive payment and order details they send us (for example transaction id and payer email) so we can fulfill licenses. We do not store your full payment card number on our servers.
- Support mail — whatever you include when you email support@finebytes.com.
- Server logs — standard web request logs (IP address, path, user agent, referer, and timestamp) used for security, abuse prevention, and diagnosing outages.
- Session cookies — a signed session cookie for form security (CSRF) and, where needed, short-lived admin session state. These are not advertising cookies.
Magic File Renamer on your PC
The desktop app runs on your computer. File names, tags, and local paths you work with stay on your machine unless you choose a feature that contacts a network service. Optional GeoNames reverse geocoding looks up nearby place names from GPS coordinates in image EXIF; that request goes to GeoNames under their terms.

We do not sell personal information.
Retention and your choices
We keep license and order records as long as needed to provide the product and handle support. You can ask us to correct or delete account-related data by emailing support@finebytes.com, subject to legal and fraud-prevention needs.
