Filters > ID3 Tag Setter Filter
This filter sets common fields in ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags of MP3 files.

Supported tag versions are V1 and V2.30.

The filter must be applied on valid MP3 files.

The tag(s) will be set only when changes are applied,
but can be previewed in the Rename List.

Changes to tags can be undone using the Undo feature.

You can manually set ID3 field values for individual files in Rename List using
the Manual Rename feature.

Tags to set:
-
Check the version(s) of tags you want to set.
-
If MP3 file does not have this version of tag already, it will be created.

If "Whichever Exists" option is checked, the tag(s) to be modified in each file
are the tags that already exist in that file. If no tag exist for a file, ID3v2
tag will be created for that file.

The check boxes to the left of each field can be in one of three states:
Checked: The field will be set.
Grayed: The field will be set only if current value is empty.
Unchecked: The field will not be set.

Track number:
-
Maximum value is 255.
-
Set value to 0 to clear this field in tags.

Check the auto-increment check box to raise track number by 1 in each file,
starting from the specified number.

Artist, Title, Album, Comment:
-
Those fields can contain any text. You may use formatting
parameters. See also Formatting Editor.

In ID3v1 tags, maximum length for the Artist, Title and Album fields is 30
characters, and 28 for Comment field. Over-length values will be trimmed.

Year:
-
Maximum value is 9999.

Set to 0 to clear the field.

Genre:
-
In ID3v1 tag, must be one of the predefined values.

In ID3v2 tag, any text value is valid.

Push/Drag button:
Use this button to automatically fill fields from an exist MP3 file.
Push the button to use ID3 fields from the first item in Rename
List, or drag any MP3 file from Rename List or File
Explorer
over the button to use it's ID3 tag fields.

Note: Individual ID3 tag fields can be set also by adding a
Formatter filter to the Applied Filters
List, and setting it's apply target to an
ID3 field.
